Bagi G-Shock, koleksi 5600 adalah model istimewa karena desain case-nya diturunkan langsung dari G-Shock pertama (1983) yaitu DW-5000C. Model DW-5600 pertama kali rilis tahun 1987 dan populer berkat Keanu Reeves memakainya di film Speed (1994). Casio G-Shock GW-M5610U-2JF adalah jam tangan ‘JDM’ (Japan Domestic Market). Label ini mengindikasikan bahwa koleksi ini khusus dirilis untuk area Jepang dan tidak diedarkan di pasar global.
