- The aim of the PIccard was to create a watch that had a distinct point of view. The imposing 47mm case diameter is a definite statement to deliver this. Crafted out of Titanium, the watch while hefty in dimension and size use the lightweight yet solid properties to allow for a completely wearable timepiece. The bulbous domed scratch resistant sapphire lens creates a look that is quite remarkable. Offering up complete protection against the elements, it serves as a magnifying window to the dial underneath.
- DIAL
- Referencing the instrumentation of vessels that first ventured into the furthest corners of the deep Sea, the dial of the Piccard is an instant flash back to the references used. The bold hands blend perfectly with the vintage inspired shape and design codes of the Piccard. With generous layers of Swiss Super luminova, the watch is legible and functional across daylight and lower light environments.
- LENS
- Through almost a year of experimentation and development. The lens is perhaps the most iconic feature of the PIccard. The lens references both the build and shape of the Bathyscape Trieste and famously of a test watch built by Rolex that accompanied the Trieste to the extreme depths of the Mariana Trench. A year of trial and error has led to the final development and delivery of the lens on the Piccard. Its unique shape is only possible via a small handful of lens suppliers who worked with us patiently to create the exact vintage inspired look yet modern performance expectations needed to complete this compellingly different timepiece.
- STRAPS
- The imposing case hugs the wrist courtesy of either a thick yet supple vintage finished, hand stitched Italian leather strap and an alternate ladder design NBR rubber strap for added versatility and wear in any condition.
- HELIUM RELEASE VALUE
- Armed with a self-regulating Helium release valve, the Piccard is built for the extremities and rigors expected with saturation diving. In the (unlikely) event the watch is found in a decompression chamber filled with Helium gas to help re-acclimatize a diver back to the surface, the Piccard is appropriately equipped.
